Halff Associates Inc. has been selected by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to perform a
scoping effort for a county-wide Flood Insurance Study of Williamson County, Texas. Halff Associates will
evaluate the current flood insurance study, flood insurance rate maps or flood hazard boundary maps that
pertain to Williamson County and/or communities. The scoping effort will include determination of additional
flood hazard mapping needs in the incorporated and unincorporated portions of Williamson County.
The purpose of this Williamson County Flood Insurance Study is to produce DFIRM panels for the county as part of the FEMA Map Modernization Program. The study area includes the incorporated and unincorporated portions of Williamson County. The scope of the project will include redelineation of effective detailed study stream profiles on the best available topographic data, and digital conversion of approximate zone flood hazard boundaries. Once funding is available, Phase I of the project will begin in March 2005.
